Diagnostic Services

When illness occurs, we are equipped to make rapid and accurate diagnosis of your pet’s problem. An in-house blood analyzer gives us extensive information about blood chemistries (liver and kidney values, proteins, calcium, blood sugar, pancreas function and more), and electrolytes (sodium, potassium and chloride) for initial diagnosis and monitoring of ongoing treatments. Staff members are trained to perform in house fecal exams, ear mite swabs, and fine needle aspirates via microscopy to help with rapid diagnostics.

We utilize five nationally recognized reference laboratories for tests that cannot be performed in-house. In addition, this allows us access to pathologists, cytologists, and microbiologists to obtain more diagnostic information on your pet’s condition. Results are faxed or downloaded several times a day in order to prevent delays in appropriate treatments.

When necessary, ultrasonography and endoscopic biopsy are performed in house by a board-certified internist. Cardiac consultations are scheduled at our location with a board certified veterinary cardiologist. If an emergency cardiac ultrasound is needed, we can refer you for same day appointments.

Radiology is performed on-site, using the latest in digital equipment to provide instant images. Both regular and detailed contrast studies are performed and evaluated by our doctors immediately. The use of digital radiology also allows a rapid turn around time with a board certified radiologist in the event a consult is needed. All without your pet ever leaving the building.

Animal & Bird Health Care Center & Hospital

I will never go to anyone other than Dr. Duggan. Not only does she know what she’s doing, but she is extremely caring. She goes above and beyond, and is really in it for the wellbeing of the animal. She listens, takes suggestions, and does research. Highly recommended.
