Dr. Kenneth Dazen
Dr. Kenneth Dazen received his Bachelors degree in Animal Bioscience from Penn State University in 1981 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1986 from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. He has been active in the field of avian and exotic animal medicine since establishing the Animal & Bird Health Care Center in 1990. Dr. Dazen joined a select group of individuals when he became a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in Avian Practice, in 2000.
Dr. Dazen is a member of the Veterinary Dental Society. He has a special interest in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery, performing root canal therapy, restorations for cavities, and surgical extractions of diseased teeth.
More recently, Dr. Dazen has become more actively involved with the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge providing medical and surgical care for its rescues and resident educational animals. He currently sits on their Board of Trustees.
Dr. Dazen has been featured on the PBS television network’s children show Zoom. He has also appeared on the Animal Planet network which featured a series on pet rabbit health care.
Dr. Dazen is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Associations, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, and the Veterinary Information Network.
Dr. Dazen and his wife, Anne, have been married since 1985. He has two sons, Kevin and Cody.
