Sharonda M. Meade, MS, PhD, VMDDr. Sharonda Meade is a 2010 graduate of School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to receiving her veterinary degree, Dr. Meade received her masters degree and doctorate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Animal and Poultry Sciences and Veterinary Medical Sciences, respectively. After receiving her degrees, she worked as an NIH post-doctoral fellow for the NJ Center for Biomaterials and the NJMS-UMDNJ, where she assisted with several animal projects including orthopedics and in vivo compatibility of biomaterials in small mammals.
After veterinary school, Dr. Meade worked in private practice for 3+ years prior to returning to the University of Pennsylvania to pursue further studies as an exotic animal intern. Dr. Meade has a special interest in avian, small mammal and reptile internal medicine and surgery. She is also interested in physical therapy in hopes to provide comfort to not only our dog and cat patients, but to our small exotic animals as well. Currently, Dr. Meade enjoys spending her time with her family and lives with a menagerie of animals including a dog, 2 cats, a turtle, a rabbit and a bird. |
